introduction

To evaluate GIMP functionality we went through our eight user scenarios. We focused on functionality that would support users to achieve their goals, while executing these essential tasks. Within some of the scenarios we have already thought about some initial design solutions, because the required functionality was not there.

the raw notes are filed under their user scenarios:

Photo Realistic

edit photo-realistic images to production/exhibition quality. read notes for this scenario.

Photo composing

composing images from multiple photos. read notes

Creating original art

creating original art, a collage of found images and wild brushwork. read notes

Icon design

designing icons with in cooperation with vector programs. read notes

Working on icon container

edit existing icons. read notes.

Creating Web images

creating bitmap elements for web pages, also using photographic material. read notes

Creating macros & scripts

automating repetitive tasks and create 'black boxes.' read notes

Batch processing

perform graphic operations on many files. read notes
